On today’s episode of Felony Friday Sarah Panell joins John to share her unique and powerful story.

From the time Sarah was a toddler she grew up touring with her Dad and Rock n Roll bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special. Drugs were just a part of life growing up. As she got older drugs continued to be a constant. Eventually, poor decisions led to 5 years in state prison for burglary.

A few years later Sarah was arrested and convicted of felony possession of a firearm and crack cocaine. She was a victim of crack cocaine mandatory minimums.

Sarah was recently released from prison after serving 15 years.  Unfortunately, she almost served her full sentence, but was released 3 weeks early thanks to the First Step Act.
