There’s something fundamentally deranged about politics.
I realize I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.
But in general, people don’t talk like this. Beto O’Rourke surely understands that this statement is nonsensical, but since he thinks it will rile up his natural base, he utters it anyway:
For heaven’s sake, of course it costs more to sustain life — even under ideal conditions! — than it does to kill.
