If Primary Healthcare Remains Shut Down, the Toll on the Elderly Will be Worse Than COVID-19

The above is the title of an extremely important article written by Gabriela Segura, MD, who has, since graduating from medical school, practiced medicine in both Italy and Spain, two hotspots for the current pandemic.

Her incisive (and courageous) article is the subject of this Duty to Warn column. It WILL make understandable (for anybody who takes the time to read and understand it) why the current Coronavirus pandemic has been so confusing and panic-inducing for nearly everybody on the planet.

Dr Segura’s inconvenient revelations about the actual censored-out facts concerning the coronavirus pandemic should give hope that – that is, if there are rational voices among our governmental, bureaucratic and mainstream media leaders out there – the pandemic is more containable than has been previously believed. Please cross-post this article, especially to our legislators who are as confused as the rest of us.

Here are a few of the many important quotes from her article:

If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%.”

The official ICD-10 code number for both COVID-19 confirmed cases and PROBABLE cases (!) is B34.2, thus inevitably falsely raising the statistics for COVID-19 as are reported in the media!. Therefore, if hospital death certificate has a B34.2 code number on it, it does NOT necessarily mean that COVID-19 killed that patient.

“Those being tested are, for the most part, hospitalized patients. This creates numbers from samples that don’t reflect the overall picture of COVID-19 in the general population.”

In heavily-tested Iceland, “half of those who tested positive are non-symptomatic; the other half displays very moderate cold-like symptoms.”

“87 per cent of deaths in Italy have been in patients over 70 years old – as happens during ANY flu season.”

“The average age (of the deaths in Italy during the 2020 pandemic) is 80.3 yearsThe majority of deaths had 3 or more associated serious health issues.”

80+ year-old patients commonly have  – and are commonly being heavily medicated for – chronic kidney failure, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation and hypothyroidism (any of which could actually be iatrogenic disorders), and could be taking up to 12 medications, including potent blood thinners. What could possibly go wrong if that patient was admitted to a hospital for any reason, especially for an infectious disease?
