California’s Planned Ban on Gas-Powered Auto Sales Is Great for Elon Musk, but It Won’t Help the Environment

California Gov. Gavin Newsom—who reportedly owns three Teslas—recently proposed an order to ban the sale of new gas-powered road vehicles in the state by 2035. 

This is great news for auto giant Tesla, but there’s a dirty little secret about electric vehicles that suggests the order will do nothing to improve the environment.
