Top Social Media Execs Donated To Biden Campaign While Censoring NYPost’s Hunter Story

Top social media executives poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and the Democratic party. Simultaneously, NYPost’s exposure of Hunter Biden’s dealings overseas was censored from certain social media platforms.

The new findings come as President Trump has repeatedly called to repeal Section 230 of the 1996 Communications Decency Act that shields social media companies such as Twitter and Facebook from liability for the content their users post.

Social media companies maintain that the provision enables the internet to thrive. Still, critics say these companies aren’t doing enough to combat harmful content but rather censoring conservative voices.

Fox News combed through Federal Election Commission (FEC) records that shows Facebook’s vice president of public policy and chief privacy officer, Erin Egan, donated nearly $100k to Democrats and Biden in the final weeks of the presidential race.

FEC records show Facebook’s chief financial officer, David Wehner, donated the legal maximum of $2,800 to Biden’s campaign in April.

During the Democratic primary, David Fischer, Facebook’s chief revenue officer, donated $2,800 to Biden, and another $750 during the general election.

Several other top-level execs at Facebook and Instagram donated to Biden’s campaign.

Over at Twitter, more of the same, dozens of execs donated mostly to Democrats and Biden.

Vice president Matt Derella gave $2,000 to Biden’s campaign in September. Senior director of product management James Kelm donated two times, totaling $5,600.

Twitter spokesman Trenton Kennedy told Fox News that the company has “stated many times – that we enforce the Twitter rules judiciously and impartially for everyone on our service.”

“Political ideology – especially that of our employees – plays no part in this process,” Kennedy said.

… yeah, okay.

A congressional committee heavily scrutinized these big tech companies in late October as a handful of Republicans blasted Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter’s Jack Dorsey, and Google’s Sundar Pichai for blatant anti-conservative bias.

Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh told Fox News earlier this week that:

“Silicon Valley mafia was always in the tank for Joe Biden and everyone knew it. It’s why they blocked the sharing of the Hunter Biden story, to protect their boy Joe Biden. That was election interference, plain and simple, while they also targeted President Trump and other Republicans with censorship.”
