Houston Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Charge Daniel Comeaux says a “counterfeit pill epidemic” is to blame for the highest overdose deaths recorded over one year in the U.S.

The DEA says overdose deaths linked to synthetic drugs increased 54.9 percent during 2020.
