The Department of Justice dropped its investigation last week into New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo over his March 2020 order forcing nursing homes to accept COVID-19 patients that resulted in the deaths of thousands of elderly residents.
Cuomo currently faces several other probes, including a criminal investigation by the FBI and the U.S. attorney’s office of the Eastern District of New York, a probe into sexual harassment allegations by Attorney General Letitia James, and an impeachment investigation by the New York State Assembly.
