I recently appeared on the Stranger Encounters podcast to talk about the Defend the Guard bill and how it can take a step toward ending the seemingly endless unconstitutional wars.
West Virginia state Rep. Pat McGeehan is leading the charge to get the “Defend the Guard Act” introduced in as many states as possible during the 2020 legislative session. The legislation would ban the deployment of Guard troops without a declaration of war as required by the Constitution and would take a step toward restoring the founders’ framework for a state-federal balance regarding the militia.
During the interview, I explain how this legislation would work, why it is so important, and what you can do to help. We also discuss the impacts of war on society and your liberty. As James Madison wrote, “Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other.”
