GETTR has introduced real-time closed captioning for live streaming in 12 different languages. The platform hopes the new feature will allow more people to access uncensored content from all over the world.
Last October, GETTR rolled out the live-streaming feature. Since then, it has become a destination for live content featuring controversial public figures like former US President Donald Trump. The platform has also hosted live videos from Covid restriction protests in Europe, coverage of the Brazilian and French presidential elections, and a host of other exclusive political content.
“GETTR continues to innovate and bring amazing new features to our global free speech community. Our new translation technology will allow people to communicate better than ever before, without the threat of Big Tech censorship. We’re just getting started,” said GETTR Chief Executive Officer Jason Miller.
The closed captions technology will provide real-time translation in 12 languages, including English, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Hebrew, Russian, German, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi, and Arabic.
GETTR also plans to roll out other features this year, including a tipping and appreciation feature to allow fans to support their favorite content creators, encrypted direct messages, an alternative to TikTok-style videos that will be called Vision, and more.
