Iran has stockpiled enough enriched uranium to produce a nuclear bomb, analysts concluded in a Monday report that confirmed findings the UN’s nuclear watchdog published on May 30.
“In essence, Iran has effectively broken out slowly by accumulating 60 percent enriched uranium,” analysts from the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) wrote. The ISIS report corroborated earlier findings in the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) quarterly Safeguards report on Iran’s ability to build a nuclear weapon, saying the country has “crossed a dangerous new threshold.”
