Gays Against Groomers’ account on Twitter was suspended for violating the platform’s policy on hateful conduct. Twitter has been cracking down on the use of the term “groomer.”

Gays Against Groomers describes itself as a “coalition of gays against the sexualization and indoctrination of children.” The account was created in June.

According to screenshots shared by the account’s creator Jaimee Michell with The Post Millennial, the account was suspended for violating Twitter’s policies on “hateful conduct.” The violating tweet was posted weeks ago. Michell believes it was suspended due to massive reporting by other users.

“Damaged people damage people. The internet is a dangerous place for kids, especially when you have radical alphabet activists openly grooming them. Protect your children from these people at all costs,” read the tweet that led to the suspension.

Twitter has been cracking down on the use of the term “groomer,” following calls to do so by journalists and activists after Reddit implemented a similar policy.

“It’s very alarming and sad that our coalition, which is comprised solely of members of the LGBT community, has been silenced by Twitter in an apparent attempt to protect those seeking to hurt and abuse children, and using our community to do so,” Gays Against Groomers said in a statement. “Twitter has made it very clear that they view gay people as nothing more than props to usher in their radical ideology.”

Another of the latest to suffer Twitter’s crackdown on the term groomer is conservative lawyer Jenna Ellis.

Ellis quoted a tweet from Libs of TikTok, and wrote: “6roomer,” replacing the letter G with the number “6” to avoid violating the rules. The trick did not work, as she was still suspended.

The Libs of TikTok tweet she referenced was a screenshot of an Instagram post by a drag queen teacher expressing her “pleasure of sharing my drag to students.”

Ellis received a seven-day suspension over the tweet.
