Colleagues and fellow employees at Apple have mixed feelings over the firing of Apple’s former vice president of procurement Tony Blevins. He was fired over a humorous comment on TikTok.
Blevins, who had worked at Apple for 22 years, was fired over a 25-second viral TikTok video. As he was exiting his Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, a luxury vehicle, he was asked by creator Daniel Mac what he does for a living. Mac has a series where he asks people with expensive cars what they do for a living.
“I have rich cars, play golf, and fondle big-breasted women, but I take weekends and major holidays off,” Blevins said. He later clarified that it was a reference to the 1981 film “Arthur.”

Some employees were surprised by the termination. He was fired without severance after refusing to resign. However, others supported the decision, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Those who worked with him claimed he was not sexist and did not display unprofessional behavior. They noted that he sometimes used humor to diffuse heated moments.
Others said that the decision to fire him was appropriate.
