In November, Indiana University Bloomington unveiled a statue honoring political theorist and former professor Elinor “Lin” Ostrom, the first woman to win the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. Ostrom, who died in 2012 at age 78, was best known for her studies of how local groups manage natural resources.
