A woman was charged for allegedly assaulting a police officer while trying to breach the Capitol complex on Thursday morning, the United States Capitol Police said.
Capitol Police prevented the woman from entering a security checkpoint at around 9:05 a.m. on New Jersey Avenue and D Street, SE, according to the press release. After officers informed the woman she wasn’t allowed to go through the security checkpoint, the woman hit one of them.
