Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California called for the resignation of the World Health Organization director-general and requested declassification of any intelligence on the coronavirus’ origin Monday.
In a letter proposing measures intended to hold China accountable for COVID-19, McCarthy said President Joe Biden “has failed to utilize any of his broad powers to hold China accountable and has willingly given up valuable leverage to force constructive change at the WHO,” and offers eight pillars Republicans will “introduce to deliver transparency and justice.”
