New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo has encouraged private businesses to mandate vaccine passports from customers.
“Private businesses – I am asking them and suggesting to them to go to vaccine-only admission,” Cuomo said during Tuesday’s press conference. “…I believe it’s in your business interest to run a vaccine-only admission.”

The governor singled out sporting venues as some of the businesses that should require proof of vaccination or a recent negative test.
He recommended the use of the vaccination certification mobile app the state developed that has been plagued with privacy issues.
“I don’t believe a mask policy will be enough,” Cuomo said at a news conference in Manhattan on Monday morning. “I think we will have to talk about a vaccination policy.”
Cuomo also suggested mandatory vaccination for teachers, nursing home workers, and healthcare workers at private facilities.
“These are the places where one person can infect literally dozens in the course of a day,” the governor argued.
