Bill Barr: Joe Biden “Lied To The American People” About Hunter’s Laptop
As Congressional Republicans (and former President Trump) slam Democrats and their allies in the media and big tech for their spurious censorship of reports concerning the contents of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop (which, as it turns out, wasn’t “Russian disinformation” but was instead 100% accurate, so sayeth the New York Times), former AG Bill Barr accused President Biden of lying to the American people in a way that was tantamount to election interference.
Barr’s latest comments on the situation were made during an interview with Fox News on Monday. In a separate interview a few days ago, he said that the systematic suppression of the Hunter Biden story “definitely impacted” the outcome of the 2020 election.

Of course, during the run-up to the election, then-AG Barr refused to discuss the Hunter Biden story with President Trump, and said he opposed injecting stories about a potential federal investigation into some of the revelations from the laptop (which exposed some of the younger Biden’s influence-peddling activities in China and elsewhere) without a “definitive judgment” from the DoJ. And while Barr said he would say the same thing today, he added that he was “shocked” and “very disturbed” by the fact that Biden “lied to the American people” about the laptop.
In the wake of the revelations, Biden pointed to claims from Democrat-aligned operatives within the intelligence community who said the laptop was “Russian disinformation”, even though he likely knew that the laptop (and its contents) were genuine.
“He’s squarely confronted with the laptop, and he suggested that it was Russian disinformation and pointed to the letter written by some intelligence people that was baseless – which he knew was a lie. And I was shocked by that,” Barr said.
Barr continued, saying he believed the suppression of the laptop story was an example of “election interference”, although he didn’t want to “venture an opinion” on whether President Biden could face any “legal liability” for his role in the laptop controversy.
When asked about whether the laptop and the Hunter Biden story could become a “political problem” for the White House, Barr said the White House now has a political “hot potato” on its hands.
“From a political standpoint now that this is in people’s consciousness, it had been suppressed up until now, obviously they have a hot potato and just to see how they handle it will be interesting,” Barr responded.
So far, nobody has been held accountable for suppressing the Hunter Biden story. But it seems Hunter Biden is about to face some potentially serious criminal charges as a lawyer for the younger Biden’s “baby mama” told reporters that he expects Hunter to be indicted as the result of a tax fraud investigation that has been ongoing for more than a year.
