President Joe Biden’s Transportation Department outlined stringent new fuel economy standards last week that it admitted would cause consumer vehicles to increase in price.
The administration projected that automakers will have to pay more than $236 billion in regulatory compliance while those that don’t meet the strict new standards will be hit with fines which will then be passed to consumers.
