Entrepreneur Sues USDA, FDA for Banning Verifiably Factual Labels on His Food Products

In 2018, Ketan Vakil started a business selling low-FODMAP foods, which are easy to digest and helpful for people with IBS. He put labels like “digestible” and “gut-loving” on his products, factual information which no one disputes.

Yet despite this information being completely, verifiably truthful, these labels are actually illegal. The reason? They don’t appear on the government’s selective list of approved “nutrient content claims.”
