Since this is a very personal issue with me as an RN working in a hospital, I researched this intensely and viewed the legislative testimony from them. Trump is telling the truth and the media is trying to spin it so as to be less disgusting. Northam AND Kathy Tran said NOTHING about an infant’s birth defect, deformity, inability to live or anything of the sort. If a mother decided this might cause mental distress, ie; “I don’t think I can afford it”, “I have 2 kids already, it’s gonna be hard on them”…. abortion approved. That’s all that was required, even if the BABY (this was not “tissue” they were discussing, these were infants heading OUT THE BIRTH CANAL, FULL 40 week births!) If the mother made such a decision DURING the birth of a FULL-TERM infant… an attempt at abortion would be made and if the infant survived it would be set aside, NO CARE RENDERED (such as cleaning out the airway) and then it would be DISCUSSED! The EXCUSE was the baby needed CARE…. You tell me what baby DOESN”T need CARE?? They cannot feed themselves, roll over, cover to get warm, change their own diaper. The TERMINOLOGY IMPLIES something medical, but that isn’t necessary. It’s MURDER!
