U.S. and Russian military aircraft flew dangerously close to each other during three separate encounters between Feb. 11-12, including an incident where they came within five feet of one another, according to Pentagon officials.
“We can confirm that over the course of last weekend, three U.S. Navy P-8A aircraft experienced unprofessional intercepts by Russian aircraft,” Director of Defense Press Operations, U.S. Navy Capt. Mike Kafka, told the Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement.
