Children’s Health Defense (CHD), one of the largest anti-vaccine mandate groups in the US, was banned on both Facebook and Instagram for spreading Covid “misinformation.” Meta claimed that the group had repeatedly violated its misinformation rules.

A screenshot shared by the organization shows that Meta banned the pages for “misinformation that could lead to real-world harm.”

The group’s founder, Kennedy, accused Meta of acting as a “surrogate for the federal government’s crusade to silence all criticism of draconian government policies.”

CHD noted that the ban came amid an ongoing lawsuit against Meta, which it is accusing the tech giant of violating the First Amendment by relying on the CDC to determine scientific truth.

CHD’s claims the lawsuit “alleges Facebook entered into an agreement with the White House to censor an entire category of speech, de-platformed CHD Chairman Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and removed CHD’s ‘donate’ button on Facebook, directing traffic instead to a third-party fact-checking organization that solicits donations.”

The lawsuit was dismissed by the Northern District of California last June but has been appealed.
